The most important Instant Team improvements are listed below:

• UNICODE use

  Instant Team now stores all texts using the so called Unicode Basic Multilingual Plane that can encode most of the international languages. Thanks to this encoding, you can now input tasks in languages that are not based on the latin alphabet.

• HTTP protocol communication

  When login into Instant Team, users now can choose whether to communicate using raw TCP Sockets as usual or tunnel the communication over the standard HTTP protocol. That can enable Instant Team usage in some company environments with very strict inbound and outbound network communication policies.

• Access rights refinement

  - It is now possible to create tasks not belonging to any project. Such tasks are visible only to its author but can be transfered to a project any time.
  - Project creation is now delegated from the Administrator role to the Manager role. Author of the project automatically becomes the first manager of the new project. Administrators retain only the right to modify who is manager of what project.
  - There is a completely new role available now in Instant Team, called Author. This role is suited for ordinary members of project teams and enables them to create new tasks in the projects they belong to. But these tasks are limited to subtasks of tasks that are assigned to the given user.

• Data modification history
  All records (task, project, note, timesheet) now include information about who last and when modified the record.

• User password change by the workgroup administrator

  Administrators can now change user password without knowing the original password.
